2010 Prayer Goals
Posted on February 1st, 2010 No commentsThese were introduced at our Annual Congregational Meeting (January 31st, 2010). These are four ways that the congregation is encouraged to pray together during this year:
1. Spiritual Strength @ North Hills
Colossians 1:9-12 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.2. A Blessing to our Community
Jeremiah 29:7 But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.3. Boldness in our Witness
Ephesians 6:18b-20 To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.4. Substantial Reduction of our Debt
Matthew 7:7-11 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him.” -
Thank You Veterans
Posted on November 11th, 2009 No commentsOn this Veterans Day, we at North Hills Church wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have and continue to serve our country! We offer our prayers to our Heavenly Father for you and your families.
Heavenly Father, You who have brought us freedom from the dominion of sin and death, we give you thanksgiving for our veterans who themselves have fought for our national freedoms, sometimes paying the ultimate price. We thank you for the sacrifice of our military families and we ask for your blessings to be poured out upon them. Please protect those men and women who serve us today, many in distant lands, and bring them safely home. We also pray for your peace to rule in the hearts of men, that may see the end of our conflicts and wars. Until that time, we seek you and give you thanks for our Veterans. Amen
